Private Equity Terms

AUM (Assets Under Management): The total market value of investments managed by IKON Group on behalf of stakeholders. IRR (Internal Rate of Return): The annualized return on an investment. MOIC (Multiple on Invested Capital): The total return generated relative to the original investment.

M&A Terminology

EBITDA (Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation & Amortization): A key measure of business profitability. Enterprise Value: The total value of a business, including equity and debt. LOI (Letter of Intent): A non-binding document expressing interest in an acquisition.

Portfolio Management Terms

Dry Powder: Committed but undeployed capital available for investments. Add-on Acquisition: A bolt-on acquisition made by an existing portfolio company. Platform Company: A foundational portfolio company used as a base for future add-on acquisitions.

Exit Terminology

IPO (Initial Public Offering): The first sale of a company’s stock to the public. Trade Sale: Sale of a portfolio company to a strategic or corporate buyer. Secondary Sale: Sale of a portfolio company to another financial sponsor or investor.
